Changing your YouTube profile picture (DP) is a quick process, and the steps are slightly different depending on whether you are using a computer or your phone. Here is the most up-to-date method.

On a Computer (Desktop)

1.Open YouTube Studio:
Sign in to YouTube on your computer, click your current profile picture in the top right, and select YouTube Studio.

2.Go to Customization:
In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click on Customization, then select the Branding (or Profile) tab at the top.

3.Change your picture:
Under the "Picture" section, click Change (or Upload if you don't have one yet). Select the new photo from your computer.

4.Adjust and Publish:Don't forget the final step!.
Adjust the crop of your image to fit the circle, click Done, and then hit the blue Publish button in the top right corner to make it live.

On the YouTube Mobile App (Android & iOS)

1.Go to your channel:
Open the YouTube app and tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner. Then, tap View Channel or tap on your channel name at the top.

2.Open the Edit menu:
Tap the Pencil icon (Edit channel) located on your channel page.

3.Update the photo:
Tap on your current profile picture (it will have a small camera icon over it).

4.Save your changes:
Choose a new photo from your gallery or take a new one. Adjust the crop, and tap Save as profile picture.

Important Image Requirements

  • Format: JPG, GIF (non-animated), BMP, or PNG.

  • Size limit: The file size must be 15 MB or smaller.

  • Cropping: YouTube displays profile pictures as circles. It will render at 98 x 98 pixels, so make sure your face or logo is perfectly centered and large enough to be seen clearly on small screens.

Note: It may take a few minutes for your new picture to update across all your past comments and videos.
